Michael W. Twitty is an African American culinary historian and food writer based in Washington D.C. He has dedicated his work to the impact and legacy of the slave trade upon food traditions and culture in the United States. His research and interests also range into the wider African Diaspora, continental African food traditions, Jewish foodways as well as heirloom and heritage breed foods and wild edible resources.
